The Canada Perspective Daily Briefing is the flagship newsletter of Canada Perspective, an independent digital news publisher owned by Northern Beacon Media Inc. (Ontario Business Registry #1003194827). It delivers a concise, reliable summary of essential Canadian news, explainers, and analysis curated by the editorial team under Editor-in-Chief Catherine Roy. The Briefing is published every weekday, with special editions for breaking stories or major policy announcements. Subscriptions are free and managed through an embedded sign-up form or by contacting info@canadaperspective.org. All subscriber data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and sponsorship or advertising within the newsletter is clearly disclosed per our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure.

Who produces the Canada Perspective Daily Briefing?

The Daily Briefing is produced by the full editorial team at Canada Perspective, under the direct oversight of Editor-in-Chief Catherine Roy. Every edition is compiled by named journalists, reviewed by an editor, and fact-checked before distribution.

Catherine Roy (catherine.roy@canadaperspective.org) is responsible for editorial standards and publication decisions. Managing Editor Marc Tremblay (marc.tremblay@canadaperspective.org) oversees daily newsroom operations, headline review, and commissioning. Provincial Affairs Editor Jessica Morin, Municipal Affairs Editor Hannah Walsh, and Community & Events Correspondent Kevin Sullivan each contribute relevant coverage. Andrew Leblanc, Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, verifies sources and corrections. For full profiles, visit our team page.

What does the Daily Briefing contain?

The Briefing includes a curated selection of the day’s most important Canadian news, along with original explainers and analysis that help readers understand complex issues without spin or oversimplification. It covers politics, business, technology, culture, and public-interest stories.

Each edition opens with a top story summary, followed by concise briefs on federal and provincial policy, municipal decisions, and economic trends. Where appropriate, the Briefing links to full articles on canadaperspective.org for deeper context. Special editions are released when major events — such as a federal budget, election, or national emergency — require immediate, trustworthy synthesis.

How can I subscribe to the Daily Briefing?

You can subscribe by entering your email address in the newsletter sign-up form embedded on this page (labelled [cpo_newsletter_form]). Alternatively, send a subscription request to info@canadaperspective.org with the subject line “Subscribe.”

There is no cost. You will receive one email each weekday morning and occasional special editions. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter. Your email address will never be sold or shared; full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How is the newsletter funded, and is sponsored content disclosed?

The Daily Briefing is funded through the same revenue streams as Canada Perspective: display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. Sponsored or commercial material within the Briefing is clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed.

Northern Beacon Media Inc. maintains a strict firewall: commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions or the selection of stories. For a complete explanation of sponsorship practices, see our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure.

Our commitments

  • Every newsletter edition is reviewed and approved by a human editor before distribution; AI tools are used only for research, formatting, or summaries and never replace editorial judgement.

  • We protect subscriber privacy: email addresses are stored securely, used only for newsletter delivery, and never shared with third parties.
  • We disclose all commercial relationships within the newsletter — including sponsored sections, affiliate links, and advertising — in compliance with our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure.
  • We maintain editorial independence: no advertiser, sponsor, or partner influences the selection or framing of news and analysis in the Daily Briefing.
